Your safety is our priority
Buying and selling social media accounts only works if the marketplace itself is trustworthy. Here's exactly how we protect your account, your money, and your data — and where the limits of that protection sit.
Account security
The basics, done properly — so your login stays yours.
Email verification on signup
Every new account has to verify ownership of its email address before it can transact. That keeps throwaway and typo-bait addresses out of the marketplace.
Password hashing handled by Supabase Auth
We never see or store your raw password. Authentication runs on Supabase Auth, which hashes and salts credentials using industry-standard algorithms before they touch our database.
Session controls and sign-out
Sessions are managed by Supabase Auth — signing out revokes your session token, and each email address can only back one account so credentials stay tied to a verified inbox.
Two-factor authentication (TOTP)
Two-factor authentication via authenticator app is available in Settings → Security. Enable it to require a 6-digit code from Google Authenticator, 1Password, Authy, or any TOTP-compatible app every time you sign in.
Marketplace safety
How every transaction is structured to protect both sides.
Internal escrow on every order
Buyer funds are held by Switch Socials until the account is delivered and the buyer confirms access. Sellers can see the deal is funded before they hand anything over, and buyers don't have to wire money to a stranger.
Human dispute review
When a deal goes sideways, our team reviews the chat history, evidence, and order timeline before releasing or refunding funds. No black-box algorithm — real people make the call.
Community moderation
The marketplace stays clean because users flag what doesn't belong — and our team acts on it.
User and listing reports
Anyone can report a user, listing, review, or message that breaks our rules. Reports come straight into our moderation queue.
Human moderation team
Our human moderators can issue warnings, suspend accounts and listings, remove harmful messages, block wallets, recover stuck transactions, and triage reports through dedicated queues.
Block and mute
Don't want to hear from someone? You can block or mute another buyer or seller and they'll disappear from your listings, profiles, and chat threads. Manage who you've blocked from your settings at any time.
Enforcement actions
Outcomes range from a private warning, to muting from chat, to listing removal, to full account suspension — depending on the severity and history of the violation.
Data & privacy
Your personal data is handled with the same care as the funds in your escrow balance. Our Privacy Policy explains exactly what we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the rights you have to access, export, or delete it.
Self-serve account deletion and data export
In line with GDPR-style data rights, you can delete your account or download a copy of your data at any time directly from Settings — no support ticket required. Deletion runs on a cool-off window so you can cancel if you change your mind.
Minimal collection, clear purpose
We only collect the data we need to run the marketplace — authentication, transactions, disputes, and communications — and our Privacy Policy spells out every category, retention period, and third-party processor we rely on.
Reporting issues
See something that breaks the rules, looks like a scam, or feels like a security issue? Tell us. The faster we hear about it, the faster we can act.
Report from inside the product
Every listing, profile, review, and chat message has a report option. Use it for anything you'd want a moderator to look at.

abuse@switchsocials.comWhat we don't do
Transparency matters more than marketing. Here's what isn't part of our protection model — and how we make up for it.
We don't run manual KYC seller verification
We don't ask sellers to submit government ID or perform identity verification before they can list. We rely on escrow, dispute review, and reporting to keep deals honest.
We don't pre-approve listings
Listings go live immediately so the marketplace can move at the speed creators do. Moderation is reactive: we act on reports, disputes, and patterns we see in the data — not on a queue of every new listing.
We don't run automated fraud ML
There's no machine-learning fraud model quietly scoring your transactions in the background. Our protection model is deliberately simple and human-led: hold the money in escrow, review the evidence, decide.
We don't run pre-listing seller history checks
We don't currently verify whether a seller has been banned, restricted, or actioned on other platforms before they list. Use buyer judgment, escrow, and our dispute team as your safeguards.
What we rely on instead
Internal escrow that holds buyer funds until delivery is confirmed, a community that reports bad actors, and a human dispute team that reviews evidence before releasing money. It's a deliberately simple model — and the reason it's simple is so it's easy to trust.
Best practices for users
Most issues we see are preventable. A few habits go a very long way.
Always transact through escrow
If a counterparty asks you to pay or deliver outside of Switch Socials — through wire, gift card, direct crypto, or another platform — stop. Off-platform deals have zero protection and are the #1 source of losses.
Screenshot everything
Before handing over an account or accepting one, screenshot the listing, chat history, follower count, insights, and any claims the other side made. Evidence is what disputes are decided on.
Inspect before you confirm
As a buyer, fully test access — login, recovery email, linked numbers, post and DM permissions — before you click confirm. Once funds release, the protection window closes.
Use strong, unique credentials
Use a password manager, never reuse passwords, and enable 2FA on the email inbox tied to your Switch Socials account and on the social accounts you list or buy. Most account losses start with credential reuse, not platform breaches.
If something feels off, report it
Suspicious DMs, listings that look too good, sellers pushing for off-platform payment — flag them. Reporting early protects you and everyone who would have come next.
Have a safety concern?
Whether it's a suspicious listing, a dispute, or a security issue, we'd rather hear about it early. Real people read every report.
